Our team meets three times per week in the morning on a conference line at 9:30 a.m. We come together for what we affectionately term our "Huddle." Role Overview

Represent both plaintiffs and defendants in domestic violence restraining orders, working with our collaborative team to achieve the best outcomes for clients in these sensitive matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in final restraining order hearings
• Handle both plaintiff and defendant cases in domestic violence matters
• Prepare and try cases, including evidence admission, direct examination, and cross-examination
• Work collaboratively with our team of former prosecutors
• Participate in regular team huddles (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) to discuss legal issues, research, negotiation strategies, and case tactics
• Collaborate with our paralegal (a former police officer and sheriff) in case preparation
• Navigate matrimonial issues and consent orders alongside family lawyers
• Understand the implications of final restraining orders on matrimonial actions

Qualifications

• New Jersey bar admission in good standing
• Proven trial experience in domestic violence restraining order cases
• Demonstrated ability to hold plaintiffs to their burden of proof
• Comfort with courtroom litigation and on-your-feet advocacy
• Must be comfortable on your feet as a trial attorney - these matters regularly go to trial
• Former prosecutor experience, Certified Criminal Trial Attorney, and Certified Matrimonial Attorney credentials are valued and preferred but not required
• Experience with or understanding of FM divorce cases and/or FD cases is highly valued
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time position with an annual salary range of $80,000.00 to $125,000.00, commensurate with your experience level.
