Order Seller, Guest Room Dining - The Charleston Place chez Beemok Hospitality Holdings

The primary role of the Guest Room Dining Service Order Taker is to adhere to hotel specifications and standards in maintaining the highest standards possible for guests by taking friendly and efficient phone orders for Room Service. While no job description can possibly provide a comprehensive list of job duties, the following is a summary of the major responsibilities for the position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Take guests’ Room Service phone orders.

• Follow the prepared scenario to encourage up-selling.

• Give the approximate time of delivery for the order.

• Post charges to guest rooms.

• Complete necessary paperwork.

• Operate point of sale system.

• Provide general office support.

• Memorize menus, specials, ingredients, preparations, prices, and service times. Be pleasant, smile, and greet all guests, using surnames when possible.

• Attend to and anticipate guests' needs.

• Maintain knowledge of hotel features/ services, outlets, hours of operation, etc.

• Assist in other areas as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service to guests.

• Ability to work under pressure, be organized, self-motivated and work well with others.

• Strong positive attitude and ability to initiate light conversation with guests.

• Knowledge of hotel property and operating hours of each guest service area.

• Basic knowledge of Charleston and surrounding areas.

• Knowledge of proper handling and storage of food and beverage items.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
