Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services not only include basic medical care, but also dental, optometry, behavioral health services, fitness, nutrition and other family programs.

Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist. The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist promotes safe, effective, and cost-conscious drug therapy in collaboration with providers, nurse care managers, and interdisciplinary teams. This role focuses on chronic disease management, preventative care, and optimizing patient outcomes through direct patient interaction, medication therapy management, and clinical support.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Works to identify and help resolve medication therapy problems while co-designing individualized therapeutic regimens for optimal management of chronic disease states and preventative care.
- Provides direct care to our beneficiaries to deliver chronic medication management and help drive better individual and population health outcomes.
- Reviews and reconciles medication use/history; develops pharmacotherapy goals, designs treatment regimens and monitoring plans, monitors therapy outcomes, and modifies plans related to chronic medication management in conjunction with the medical provider.
- Provides and documents individualized medication education and training to patients, groups, and family members.
- Documents all care and medication dosage changes; provides complete oral instructions on the correct use and storage of all medications to assure complete patient understanding.
- Ensures continuity of care for patients, evaluates patient treatment, and recommends formulary alternatives as appropriate.
- Ensures appropriate, cost-effective drug utilization while maintaining and enhancing patient care.
- Prepares and dispenses medications using appropriate techniques and applicable policies and procedures.
- Ensures the delivery of quality patient care in Pharmacist-managed clinics by coordinating, managing, and implementing effective and efficient policies, procedures and collaborative practice agreements.
- Provides drug information, in-service training and educational activities to OKCIC staff on pharmacotherapy and drug-related
- matters.
- Oversees antibiotic stewardship.
- Performs all duties of a licensed pharmacist as required by the Pharmacy Director and as identified by the ability of the department to effectively provide chronic medication management services.
- If applicable, collaborate with internal and external grant manager(s)/coordinator(s) to achieve grant objectives.

Qualifications
- Must align with OKCIC vision, mission, and core values.
- Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position
- Doctorate in Pharmacy recognized by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education
- Successful completion of a PGY-1 pharmacy residency program or minimum 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy
- Current immunization registration
- Current CPR is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or Ambulatory Care (BCACP) preferred
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ALCS) preferred.
