Rochester Midland Corporation is searching for an experienced Human Resources Recruiter/Generalist to join our team and oversee and manage the full candidate lifecycle from sourcing to day one onboarding. This position is accountable for building trust and rapport with all business partners and will require asking clarifying questions to understand staffing needs for each vacancy. This position also requires an in-office presence to assist in Human Resource matters including employee relations.

The successful candidate will have deep recruiting experience using the latest technology and sourcing for 'passive' candidates.  This will be the primary responsibility of the position.  The candidate will also have employee relations experience.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Source and recruit candidates by leveraging the latest technology including AI, company Applicant Tracking System (ATS), social media, networking, and online tools (i.e. university career connections)
  • Review job details and prepare postings in coordination with hiring managers to determine recruitment strategy.
  • Actively and effectively recruit passive candidates to reduce dependency on external recruiting firms. 
  • Serve as the expert to pre-screen and interview potential candidates for employment using technical and behavioral-based interviewing methods
  • Facilitate the selection of candidates in alignment with OFCCP, ADA, and Equal Opportunity guidelines and internal processes
  • Manage the candidate life cycle including interviewing and selection up to and through onboarding, including extending the offer of employment, coordinating drug/background check and MVR report pulls, and organizing other pre-employment arrangements
  • Act as liaison with employment agencies and sourcing vendors as appropriate, manage contracts and invoicing of preferred temporary agencies 
  • Ensure that onboarding is processed through the HRIS, including completion of all needed documents and signatures before date of hire
  • Utilize the ATS, design and maintain reports connected to the selection process, and meet all Federal and State compliance requirements
  • Partner with Sr. Payroll Specialist to complete annual compliance filings related to hiring and diversity initiatives (i.e. Affirmative Action, EE01, Veterans 4212, California Pay Equity, etc.)
  • Provide monthly metrics to the business to outline key metrics such as days to fill, days outstanding, open/closed positions, turnover, etc.
  • Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding the recruiting process and continuously seek to improve the process to meet staffing goals
  • Document and communicate internal job changes, promotions, demotions, etc.
  • Create, update, and maintain accurate employee job descriptions
  • Handle various employee relations issues, participate in and document employee investigations, implement corrective/disciplinary actions as needed
  • Assist HR team with various tasks including but not limited to support of compliance requirements, initiating the benefits enrollment, reporting, researching, and updating information in HRIS 
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in the recruiting and selection field through reading, attendance at conferences and seminars, etc.
  • Perform similar, comparable, or related duties as required or assigned

 

EDUCATION/ SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, management, or any related field

 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5+ years of Full-Cycle Recruiting experience
  • 3+ years of Human Resource Generalist experience 
  • Strong track record of utilizing creative strategies in technical, sales and manufacturing recruiting
  • Applicant Tracking System and/or HRIS experience, ADP experience is a plus

 

SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate ATS and HRIS tools
  • Strong knowledge of social media and demonstrated usage of tools such as LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize the latest technology including proactive sourcing methods
  • Clear understanding of the end-to-end recruitment life cycle process
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
