The SQF Coordinator supports the SQF Manager in maintaining and improving Panos Foods’ Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program. This role assists with compliance, documentation, training, and auditing activities to ensure the company meets SQF Code requirements, regulatory standards, and customer expectations. The SQF Coordinator helps drive a culture of food safety and quality across all departments.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

· Assist the SQF Manager with implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the SQF Food Safety & Quality System.

· Support document control activities, including updating procedures, forms, and records.

· Conduct internal audits, inspections, and verifications to ensure compliance with SQF, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory requirements.

· Track and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), ensuring timely follow-up and closure.

· Help prepare for external audits, customer visits, and third-party certifications.

· Support food safety and quality training programs for employees at all levels.

· Assist with supplier approval, monitoring, and documentation.

· Maintain accurate records related to food safety incidents, product holds, and traceability exercises.

· Collaborate with operations, sanitation, and warehouse teams to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

· Serve as a backup SQF Practitioner when required.


Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Requirements

Qualifications

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

· 1–3 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or SQF program support.

· Knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory compliance (FDA/USDA).

· SQF Practitioner training or certification a plus (or ability to obtain within 6–12 months).

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions

• Warehouse and office environment; must be able to move between cold storage, production, and warehouse areas.

• Some lifting (up to 25 lbs), standing, and walking in refrigerated environments may be required.
• Flexible hours during audit preparation or external inspections.

Position Type & Compensation

• Full-time, hourly or salaried (depending on experience).
