The Dry Cast Supervisor position directs and assists managing all Dry Cast (Box Culvert) Production Leads as well as the Operational and Non-Operational team members.
The Dry Cast Supervisor must communicate with the Production Manager daily to ensure that the plant operations are following the correct protocol to make sure product is being produced safely, on time, cost effectively, and meeting quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
- Supervise and manage the production Dry Cast (box culverts) and the activities that are directly related to that including safety, quality and production efficiency.
- Ensure that all members of Dry Cast production are wearing proper PPE at all times no exceptions.
- Report all injuries to the Production Manager or EHS Manager immediately.
- Collaborate with Safety Department ensuring that all team members follow industry standard health and safety guidelines.
- Provide motivation, support, and guidance to all team members. Communicating goals set by senior management to team leads daily.
- Communicate with the Production Manager daily to ensure that the box culvert schedule is being implemented in the correct manner and that the schedule is accurate daily.
- Complete pre and post checklist for both variant 4000 and 6000 machines as well as visually inspect benders for any issues.
- Make sure that ALL forklift operators complete the forklift inspection sheet before shift begins.
- Ensure cages are bent to the proper dimensions according to the drawings and that the proper spacers are being used.
- Ensure that cages and pallets are clean, correctly measured, and ready for production.
- Periodically inspect the quality of the concrete batches and product appearance and ensure that all finishing techniques are being implemented ensuring that all lift holes and scoring is done correctly.
- Ensure that boxes are being properly hydrated.
- Daily inspect the previous day’s product; discuss any issues or concerns regarding the previous day's faults or errors with Production Manager.
- Provide direction and leadership to the Changeover Team to ensure jackets and pallets are ready per the production schedule utilizing the jacket checklist to verify completeness.
- Communicate all maintenance issues or concerns to the maintenance staff as well as Production Manager.
- Assure that ALL lockout-tag out procedures are being performed at applicable times.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in related field or three years supervisor/general leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
EXPERIENCE
- One to three years of experience in a construction environment and performing a leadership role.
