JOB SUMMARY:

The METALLURGIST is responsible for directing and coordinating sintering, metallurgical, and electrochemical plant activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assures control of material prep and electroplating areas on any technical and quality matters.
• Develops and implements technical systems in accordance with IATF/TS16949 requirements.
• Drives Continuous Improvement, as a member or leader of cross functional teams
• Assists with technical customer concerns relative to material prep and plating.
• Advises plant management of any technical matters or concerns.
• Utilizes product/process expertise to advise plant management on technical and quality decisions.
• Collects and uses data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Communicates with the corporate technology team on new product and process development.
• Uses lean management (TBPS) and constraint management in decision-making.
• Performs other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s of Science in Metallurgy, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

5 years manufacturing experience preferred in metallurgy and plating.  Supervisory experience preferred.  Familiarity with material characterization techniques and interpretation.  Experience with non-ferrous metallurgy and heat treat.
