Director of Consumer Sales

Job Description

As the Director of Consumer Sales, you will play a key role in shaping and executing our customer-focused strategy. You will lead efforts to drive sales growth and ensure every customer interaction reflects excellence, creating a seamless and engaging experience throughout their journey with our company.

In this role, you will oversee:

  • Retail Distribution – Manage inventory, vendor partnerships, product placement, and logistics to deliver timely, effective solutions to retail partners.

  • Inside Sales – Lead a team handling customer inquiries, qualifying leads, preparing proposals, and achieving sales targets through consistent customer engagement.

  • Solar Design Sales – Guide the team that consults with customers, develops system designs and proposals, and ensures accuracy by working closely with operations and technical teams.

A successful candidate must be able to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive customer experience strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. 

  • Lead and inspire a team of CX and retail sales professionals, fostering a culture of customer-centricity. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with customer experience and sales goals.

  • Analyze and map the customer journey, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Implement strategies to enhance customer touch-points throughout their journey. 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets. Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals, setting sales targets, and evaluating their performance. 

  • Create sales forecasts and budgets, monitoring progress, and making necessary adjustments. Collect, analyze, and act upon customer feedback, reviews, and surveys to drive continuous improvement. 

  • Utilize data and analytics to identify trends and insights, making data-driven decisions to enhance sales CX. 

  • Identify and streamline internal processes that impact the customer experience. Implement best practices and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 

  • Stay up-to-date with CX technology trends and implement relevant tools to support customer interactions and data analysis. 

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and report on the success of department initiatives. 

  • Collaborating with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to align strategies and achieve overall business goals. 

  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Adaptability: Remaining flexible and responsive to changing customer needs and market conditions, and adjusting strategies accordingly. 

  • Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of retail sales and CX initiatives with broader company goals. 

  • Accountability: Taking responsibility for the success of retail sales and CX initiatives and being willing to be held accountable for results. 

  • The ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a sales team to achieve targets and excel in their roles. 

  • A deep understanding of sales strategies, techniques, and processes to drive revenue growth. The capacity to develop and execute sales strategies that align with the company's overall goals and market trends.

Qualifications:

  • 10 plus years of proven experience in a senior level customer experience and sales leadership role. 

  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • A passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience.
