The Branch Manager is responsible for the planning, supervision and operation of a successful industrial supply sales and sales support branch.

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in the personnel process for branch staff, including, but not limited to hiring, supervision and evaluation of staff performance and identification of staff training needs.
  • Provides customer service and Service ticket processing.
  • Develops plan to enhance workflow in local branch (service, ship/receive, and customer service).
  • Completes daily branch tasks including - shipping/receiving, customer service, and service ticket processing.
  • Monitors branch expenditures and works with financial officers to set and maintain budget limits.
  • Maintains awareness of current sales trends and developments and reports these to the sales manager for marketing plans.
  • Interpret Air Power policies and procedures to branch employees.
  • Establish effective communications with outside salesmen, subordinates, and customers.
  • Monitors physical location, initiates facility maintenance and repair as necessary, alerts administration to major problems.
  • Responsible for facility security and response to alarms.
  • Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Controls and/or facilitates sourcing, expediting and item maintenance for new and current items.
  • Manage and maintain inventory at levels that are in the best interest of Air Power.
  • Enforces all safety issues as mandated by our safety committee.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of increasingly responsible professional experience.
  • Knowledge of the basic elements of branch administration and the ability to apply such knowledge to work performed.
  • Knowledge of Air Power's policies and procedures.
  • Analytical abilities sufficient to perform problem solving for customer and equipment issues.
  • Independent judgment to set priorities and work independently.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with the public and staff.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • Concentrates on a task despite frequent distractions. 

Education:

  • Associate degree in business or equivalent, and/or equivalent work experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in all areas of the branch location.
  • Move intermittently during working hours.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
  • Position may require out of town travel.  Travel will be planned associated with training and/or Air Power Corporate functions.

Specific Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with the public.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communications and making presentations.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills, adding, subtracting, dividing etc.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment including information management tools (Windows applications, database, etc.).
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, visitors, sales staff, and customers.

Physical And Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices):

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with personnel, visitors, sales staff, and customers, etc.
  • Must pass drug test.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 30 lbs. to a minimum height of 2 feet and be able to push, pull, move and /or carry such weight a minimum of 5 feet.
