About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of equipment within a produce manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and maintain production quality. The technician will work closely with production teams to identify potential issues before they escalate, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards specific to the agriculture and food processing industry. By maintaining precision in mechanical repairs and electrical wiring, the technician supports the overall productivity and safety of the manufacturing facility. Ultimately, this role contributes to sustaining high operational standards and supporting the company’s commitment to delivering safe, high-quality food products.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience working in a food manufacturing or produce environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and repair.
- Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical repairs and electrical wiring tasks.
- Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or diploma in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and calibration.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in agriculture and food processing industries.
- Previous experience working with automated manufacturing systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment used in food manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC systems and other automated machinery to ensure minimal production interruptions.
- Use precision measuring tools to diagnose equipment issues and verify repair accuracy.
- Conduct mechanical repairs including adjustments, replacements, and alignments of mechanical systems and components.
- Safely climb ladders and access elevated equipment to perform inspections and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to address equipment-related concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements specific to the agriculture and food manufacturing industry.
