JOB SUMMARY
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of the apartment complex grounds. This includes landscaping, cleaning, and minor maintenance tasks to ensure a pleasant and well-maintained environment for residents.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning:
- Sweep and clean sidewalks, parking lots, and other common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Pick up litter and debris throughout the property.
- Clean and maintain common area patios, decks, and balconies.
- Clean and maintain pool area (if applicable), including cleaning the pool deck, emptying trash, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Minor Maintenance:
- Perform minor repairs to fences, benches, and other outdoor fixtures.
- Replace light bulbs in outdoor fixtures.
- Maintain and clean outdoor grills and picnic areas.
- Shovel snow and apply de-icer to walkways and parking lots during winter months.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Other Duties:
- Assist with resident events and activities as needed.
- Maintain storage areas for tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of basic landscaping techniques and equipment.
- Ability to operate lawn mowers, trimmers, edgers, and other landscaping equipment.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and attractive property.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Exposure to various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Use of hand and power tools.
WORKING CONDIDTIONS
- Primarily outdoors.
- May be exposed to noise from landscaping equipment.
