The Bessemer Trust Alternative Investments Intern will support the Private Equity and Real Assets teams’ efforts related to investment activities; investment monitoring and analysis; reporting and investor relations for existing private equity and real assets funds. This position is expected to include significant interaction with investment professionals within Bessemer’s Alternative Investments group. The intern will report to a senior member of the Private Equity investment team. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to analysis of various macroeconomic factors and their impact on market levels; industry and company screening and analysis, financial model construction, and asset valuation; and external investment manager screening and performance evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Support private equity, venture capital, and real asset fund and co-investment due diligence efforts
- Support asset allocation and other investment-related analyses
- Support reporting and investor relations efforts:
- Preparation of internal reports to support external reporting
- Editing of presentations for semi-annual Board meetings and annual investor webcasts
- Data entry into and reporting from private equity database
- Evaluate potential market effects of changes in various macroeconomic factors and/or government policies;
- Conduct industry- and company-specific analyses (industry structure, competition, competitive advantages, financial model construction, asset valuation);
- Execute any other assignment as directed by the Alternative Investment teams;
- Comprehensive competitive analysis on external managers in the following asset classes:, private equity and real assets.
Qualifications
- Candidates will be in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree with excellent academic credentials;
- Rising Seniors preferred
- Effective analytical and quantitative skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Candidates must be team-oriented, results-driven, a self-starter, and possess a “can-do” attitude;
- Candidates must possess both a desire to continuously learn and an inherent intellectual curiosity.

Compensation Information:
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $35.00 - $40.00. Hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors.
