SHIFT:  1st Shift Monday-Thursday 5am - 3:30pm(+ Over Time)

About the Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on, motivated Maintenance Lead to join our team. In this role, you’ll not only lead and guide maintenance staff but also work alongside them on the production floor to ensure daily goals are met safely and efficiently. Help with preventive and predictive maintenance integration The Maintenance Lead will also be instrumental in identifying areas for process improvement and implementing best practices to enhance productivity. By fostering a collaborative work environment, the Maintenance Lead will motivate team members to achieve their full potential while meeting production deadlines. Ultimately, this role is essential for driving operational excellence and contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing facility. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Direct maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. 
  2. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. 
  3. Oversee maintenance staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  4. Provide training, work direction and guidance while performing work in one or more skilled trades.
  5. Assist Coordinator in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and supplies.
  6. Report to Coordinators regarding work completed referring unusual technical or personnel issues to Coordinators.
  7. Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, State, and local codes, regulations and requirements. 
  8. Perform skilled maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment.
  9. Maintain various records related to labor, materials and work orders.
  10. Any additional duties as assigned. 
  11. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and forklift and/or scissor lift in performing duties.
  12. Identify and communicate unsafe work practices or procedures.
  13. Good communication skills with operators, other mechanics and management
  14. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & handle multiple tasks.
  15. Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company.
  16. Reliable and punctual - must adhere to attendance and absenteeism policy.
  17. Utilize computerized maintenance systems to accurately and thoroughly document and track all corrective and preventive maintenance performed throughout the course of the day.
  18. Documentation of work tasks completed.
  19. Notifies Maintenance Manager of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken
  20. Mentor technicians by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals
  21. Communicates pertinent information to next shift.
  22. Document the usage of replacement spare parts.
  23. Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organization
  24. Drive company goals and objectives through individually led projects and continuous improvement activities.
  25. Participate and contribute within the plant team including attending team meetings and shift handovers.
  26. Must be willing to pursue ongoing technical training to enhance capabilities.
  27. Performs individual assignments as management may direct.

 

Preferred Knowledge and Skill Qualifications: 

  1. Ability to train and provide direction to assigned personnel in the performance of a wide variety of duties related to ITC equipment.
  2. Ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks/projects. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate is an asset
  4. Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  5. Familiarity with production management software and tools.
  6. Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
  7. Experience with troubleshooting breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns e.g., diagnostics, problem solving, etc.)
  8. Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
  9. Experience with reading mechanical drawings (e.g. hydraulics, pneumatics)
  10. Experience with schematics (e.g., electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays)
  11. Preferred: Knowledge of welding, cutting and metal fabrication
  12. Preferred experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record maintenance and repairs.
  13. Leadership experience/aptitude, ability to mentor, manage, lead, and develop training plans for other service technicians
  14. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload
  15. Quality always minded
  16. Excellent organization and time management skills
  17. Good communication skills and ability to read, speak, write English with peers, management, contractors and vendors – able to write detailed reports and findings 
  18. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs including changing shift schedule, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

  19. Must be able to comply with ITC Manufacturing's Drug and Alcohol policy
