Position Overview:

BIETC is currently looking for Associate Equipment & Tool Engineer - Asset Electrical Systems Engineer to join Production Engineering team in Bangalore. These positions will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial (BCA) business organization.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with the Production Engineering Teams to implement the Equipment & Tool Design solutions.

Job Description:

The Equipment & Tool Engineer - Asset Electrical Systems Engineer responsible for overseeing the Heavy Electrical Equipment Installation process, which encompasses the design and accurate integration of electrical hardware components in compliance with standards such as NFPA 79 and NEMA 250. This role involves developing testing and inspection plans for wire harnesses, panels, and electrical systems to ensure their continuity and proper functionality. Collaboration with suppliers for procuring components that meet specified requirements, while also providing technical support for troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions. A strong understanding of repair, part interchangeability, and maintenance practices is essential, along with the capability to create engineering documentation and technical schematics using CAD tools.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand the Electrical hardware components of systems, including breakers, fuses, overload locations, magnetic contactors, I/O circuitry, closed-loop outputs, and feedback.

  • Interpret and use manufacturer's drawing symbols, numbering systems, interconnection diagrams, and electrical cabinet layouts.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to procure electrical hardware components that meet the required specifications and standards and oversee Heavy Electrical Equipment Installation.

  • Collaborate with Equipment Engineering and Service teams to ensure accurate representation and integration of electrical hardware components in system designs.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, such as NFPA 79 and NEMA 250, in the selection and installation of electrical equipment.

  • Create testing and inspection plans for wire harnesses, panels, and Equipment electrical systems for continuity and proper functioning.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to procure electrical hardware components that meet the required specifications and standards.

  • Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting electrical hardware issues and implementing corrective actions.

  • Implement the Standard Specification Process to author outsource packages with standard, verifiable, and high-quality requirements for electrical test equipment’s

  • Utilize a Systems Engineering approach to decompose the production system and derive a complete set of requirements.

  • Analyze equipment data, including performance metrics, maintenance records, and failure data, to identify trends and potential reliability issues. Develop and implement strategies to improve Electrical equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability.

  • Understand Electrical equipment repair, part interchangeability, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices. This includes knowledge of procedures for resolving asset non-conformances, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Familiarity with electrical design and documentation standards and principles. Ability to produce engineering documentation and technical schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) tools.

Basic Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Electrical / Electronic Engineering Degree or equivalent

  • Interpret Wire Harness design definitions, Routings, Connection schematics, Load Analysis & Calculations

  • Strong knowledge of Electrical hardware components, including Breakers, Fuses, Overload locations, Magnetic Contactors, I/O circuitry, closed-loop outputs, and feedback.

  • Familiarity with Manufacturer's drawing symbols, Numbering systems, Interconnection diagrams, and Electrical cabinet layouts.

  • Understanding of relevant electrical standards, such as NFPA 79, NEMA 250, IEC 60947, IEC 60364

  • knowledge of decomposing complex systems and deriving requirements.

  • knowledge of capital equipment requisition process or procurement.

  • knowledge of reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.

  • Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis and failure investigations.

Bachelor's with 5 to 8 years of experience / Master’s degree with 4 to 7 years’ experience in Electrical / Electronics Engineering
