Overview:

Looking for 10 students to work as event staff to provide support for the Learning and Teaching Festival event scheduled 15/16 October 2025.

As a vital part of the Learning and Teaching Festival working group, the Event Support Officer will support the set up and successful delivery of the L&T Festival, the role will undertake assigned various tasks assigned by the Festival Event Coordinator prior to and on the day as well as oversee and guide attendees across various sections of the venue during the festival. This role offers a chance to contribute to RMIT's operational aspects and gain valuable event support experience.

Key Accountabilities

Reporting to the Festival Event Coordinator and working collaboratively with the Learning & Teaching Festival working group, the responsibilities of the Events Support Officer will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working as an usher and being responsible for facilitating seating to maximize space.
  • Welcoming guests to the venue and effectively managing the registration desk/system.
  • Being assigned various tasks by the event manager as required
  • Upholding any necessary safety precautions
  • Providing high levels of customer service
  • Providing relevant information to event attendees

Must have full day availability on 15 and 16 October.

NB If successful for this role please be aware you will be required to obtain an employee Working with Children Check by the start date. The cost of the check is $126.50 and can be reimbursed once employment commences.
