As the Operations Safety Lead, you will report directly to the Manager, Safety Operations & Governance, and work closely with the wider Safety team, making your mark in several ways:
- Integral in building a safety culture by advising on the health, safety and risk associated with activities across Business Operations.
- Drive implementation of excellence in safety practice to ensure safety is a core value for all workers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Implement industry-leading safety measures across the business that will lead to sustainable business outcomes.
Your Day to Day
With a focus on Operational Data Centres and offices, you will:
- Champion the safety culture and embed safety as a core value by engaging with workers, management, and contractors to assist with the implementation of strategic safety improvement initiatives.
- Lead the incident management process across sites in Singapore to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
- Lead and assist site teams in reviewing hazards, near misses, incidents and incident investigations including root cause analysis. Work with teams to develop and implement corrective actions.
- Lead assurance activities, including safety audits and inspections.
- Provide site teams with support to address safety concerns as needed.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build relationships across all sites.
- Stakeholder engagement and support to resolve safety issues across site interface areas.
- Take the lead on regional safety risk management projects when required.
- Lead regional operations safety initiatives to ensure completion when required.
- Support the continuous improvement and implementation of AirTrunk’s safety management system.
- Assist in the analysis and presentation of safety data to identify trends and patterns for prompting action on improvements as required.
- Ensure compliance with country safety legal requirements as well as internal management system requirements.
- Participate in Safety in Design activities for the sites.
- Support sites contractor management processes, including safety prequalification and due diligence act.
- Lead and ensure compliance to safety customer requirements for the sites.
- Lead safety engagement and collaboration with customers across sites.
- Lead site presentations to customers, vendors, and suppliers to achieve safety outcomes across sites.
- Assist in developing training packages in multilingual languages so that it can be delivered in country.
- Lead site safety training initiatives and provide mentoring and coaching to operational teams as required.
Requirements
- 7+ years in a safety role with experience in operations, facility management and working with contractors in high-hazard industries such as construction, electrical, oil & gas, mining, or processing plants. Critical environment experience is highly regarded.
- Higher education qualifications in the Work Health and Safety or a related field.
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer - WSHO.
- Proven experience in supporting the development, review and implementation of safety management systems.
- Auditing and inspection experience both internally and of third parties.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management strategies and processes.
- Experience in conducting root cause analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Above-average writing and data presentation skills.
- Well-developed communication, collaboration, influence, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in both verbal and written English.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing environment and work effectively in a team setting.
- Experience influencing workers, management, and contractors.
- Safety experience across developing economies a plus.
- Assist with other safety activities not mentioned when required.
- Ability to travel to South Asia sites and other locations across APJ when required.
