Position Summary:

Winnie Palmer Hospital is seeking for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide safe transfer of patients to local facilities, discharges and outlying facilities.

 

Location: Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, Orlando, FL
Department: Mobile Transport
Type: Pool (1 shift per week) 

Shift: Varies

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  • Documentation of each transfer to include type of transfer and destination of patient being transported.
  • Communicates appropriate patient information with RN/RRT/Paramedic when transfer is by ambulance on the appropriate run sheet.
  • Demonstrates competency in advanced unit specific tasks and skills as defined by unit specific competency list.
  • Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient?s condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Experience

One (1) year of ambulance driving experience and/or Fire Department experience.

 

Education/Training

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Emergency Medical Technician program from approved/accredited Department of Transportation (DOT) program. May also be a graduate of an additional paramedic program.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license or Paramedic (PMD) license in the State of Florida renewed every two (2) years.
  • Maintain current Basic life support certification (BLS).
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator's Certificate (EVOC) certification.
  • Valid Florida driver?s license with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and must be insurable under the Orlando Health Insurance carrier's requirements and standards.
