Summary

Provide oversight and supervision for the operations at a large volume records facility. The Supervisor will also be a training resource while performing their essential duties and responsibilities.

The pay rate for this position is $33.00-$35.00/hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enforces company policies, goals, and safety regulations with personnel under their control and other employees as needed in a consistent, decisive, and equitable manner always.
  • Creates and nurtures an atmosphere that increases productivity and commitment.  Must be objective in doing business before saying it can or cannot be done.
  • Oversees proper procedures in personnel functions for subordinates.
  • Manages change in the work center.
  • Oversees RMTs to ensure the quality and quantity of their work
  • Directs and performs Quality Control (QC) reviews as required in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).  Must report results as required.
  • Properly assigns, trains, monitors, and evaluates RMTs for tasks that need to be accomplished.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and solves problems that appear during the workday.
  • Collects, prepares, verifies, and analyzes project data. Records and prepares reports as required.  Writes and submits complete, accurate, and timely reports as required.
  • Oversees proper submission of leave documents and timecards following company policy.
  • Performs required personnel paperwork, including (but not limited to) absence slips and accident/injury reports, memorandums for the record, performance improvement plans, and annual evaluations
  • Accomplishes established deadlines quickly, promptly, and successfully as required.
  • Monitors attendance of assigned RMTs and properly processes required paperwork to verify absences.
  • Uses Employee Guide and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to assist RMTs in understanding and following policies and procedures.
  • Properly counsel personnel and properly document sessions for corporate use (must counsel in private and praise in public).
  • Drafts and edits SOP as needed.
  • Receives and prepares reports for shipment for UPS.
  • Properly monitor and/or dispose of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with the SOP.
  • Performs duties as Safety Monitor for assigned spaces, identifying, mitigating, and reporting safety hazards throughout the facility. Must review all Accident/Injury Reports for completeness before passing them to the Site Manager/Alternate Site Manager.
  • Understands and complies with Occupant Emergency Plans (OEP).
  • Firmly, fairly, and accurately supervises personnel assigned to the work center.
  • Performs or delegates the performance of required training within the workspace assigned, making sure it is properly conducted and reported.  Tasked with the direction, counseling, and training of all staff and subordinate supervisors.
  • Conducts work preparation for the assistant Leads and assigned RMTs daily, always keeping in mind the long-range picture at the same time.
  • Ability to move about and cross-train in all areas of the site location.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises 5-20 employees to include 1-2 Assistant Supervisors

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 2 (two) or more years of supervisory experience
  • Must meet standards of Post Offer Essential Functions (POET)
  • Read, write, and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need)
  • Applicants must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must have direct experience in large-volume records work
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Ability to pass a drug screen

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree
  • Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures

Physical Demands

The work involves long periods of standing, walking, climbing, and bending while performing quality assurance duties. Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with a meal break. Ability to push and pull loaded carts approximately 1 mile. Frequent handling of folders. Grasping, pulling, lifting, scooping, etc. Working safely requires the ability to use both hands. Frequent overhead lifting of 35 lbs. or less.  Lifting boxes of folders weighing up to 50 pounds is required. 10 keying and data entry. Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items using proper safety and lifting methods.  Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Ability to distinguish color to perform the job.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described in this job description are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.  Normally subjected to inside (cave) environmental conditions. Use of carts, stools, elevators, conveyors, pallet jacks, and pallet lifts. Footwear must be closed-toe and closed-heel with a nonslip surface. Walking several miles per day is routine.

 

Work Schedule:    Monday – Friday (40 hours per week) may vary based on business needs
