Position Summary:

Provides customer service to our patients, assisting in the preparation of and responsible for the delivery of tray items.  The Nutrition Services Attendant job will also work in the dish room to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing of all hospital dishes and designated areas.  This role will also assist in preparing for catering events by setting up and delivering food items. 

 

Essential Function:

  1. Assist in tray preparation and delivery of patient meals.
  2. Responsible for all aspects of the dish room from the dirty to clean process. 
  3. Assist with Meals on Wheels assembly to ensure all customers’ orders are prepared and ready for delivery.
  4. Responsible for all cleaning items on the cleaning schedule in each of the designated areas.
  5. Preparing for catering events by setting up the place settings and food displays to ensure consistent with the planning sheets. Tear down of the events including cleaning and sanitizing the area.
  6. Capable of running cash register

 

Other Job Duties:

  1. Assist teammates when able to ensure completion of all tasks for shift.
  2. Complete other jobs as assigned to fulfill patient and department needs.

 

Hard Skill Requirement:

  1. Basic cash register familiarity

  1. Good communication with teammates to ensure workflow and tasks are completed no matter what role you play.
  2. Flexibility to work with the ebb and flow based on shifting needs and priorities.
  3. Time management to ensure the workload is prioritized to the needs of the day.

 

Knowledge Requirements:

  1. Ability to communicate in spoken and written English, as well as ability to read and comprehend English required.
  2. Basic reading skills to maintain daily paperwork for cleaning locations and notifications for patient room pre-cautions.
  3. Basic computer skills for annual education, benefits enrollment, payroll viewing and email communication.
  4. Through on the job training:
    1. Proper use of cleaning chemicals
    2. Operating the various housekeeping equipment

 

Physical Requirement & Working Conditions

Exposed to dish room chemicals to ensure sanitization requirements are met.  Frequent handwashing is required.  Frequent contact with water and disinfecting materials.
