SUMMARY
The CNC Operator plays a critical support role in the CNC department by loading, unloading, flipping, and visually inspecting machined parts during and after CNC operations. This entry-level position helps ensure smooth workflow, accurate part handling, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
PAY
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour DOE + Shift Differential
SCHEDULE
Weekend Day Shift:
Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
5:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Work 36 hours get paid equal to 40 hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Load and unload parts from CNC machines in coordination with Setup Technicians.
- Flip or reposition parts between machining operations as instructed.
- Perform basic visual checks for surface quality, burrs, or obvious defects.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints to determine machining requirements.
- Run work orders in accordance to the CNC schedule board.
- Conduct quality inspections using VMS (Vision Measuring System) to verify part dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform machine work offsets to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional specifications.
- Use basic hand tools for part cleaning or light deburring.
- Label, organize, and stage finished parts for the next process step.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate with Setup Technician report machine status and assist with setups as needed.
- Communicate any issues or concerns to Setup Technician or Leads promptly.
- Follow all company safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Perform additional shop support tasks as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Team player with a dependable work ethic and a willingness to learn.
· Basic understanding of shop safety and manufacturing environments.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous experience in manufacturing or production support is a plus but not required.
· On-the-job training provided.
