What You'll Do:

This role is part of our Apprentice Program and is an education-focused entry to a career at Principal by developing apprentices toward specific business needs. As an Apprentice 1 you will develop the skills necessary for success in an entry-level role. All apprentices gain hands-on experience through placement on a team, receive technical training, and contribute to our mission of empowering financial well-being for customers. In an effort focused on development, apprentices will also receive wrap-around services like coaching, mentoring and workshops intended to help them grow and develop as professionals, learn about career opportunities at Principal, and build their business and financial acumen.

 

This role is designed to provide a holistic learning experience for motivated individuals who seek to start their corporate career without a required 4-year degree. Assuming successful on the job learning and performance, apprentices typically move into non-apprentice roles after 12 months.

 

Principal is seeking a highly motivated individual for a Broker Dealer Operations Associate position. In this role you will provide service and administrative assistance to registered representatives, clients, and internal customers, and you’ll communicate information and respond to inquiries from representatives and clients and maintain accurate databases.

 

Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:

 

  • Review and establish both self-sponsored and non-proprietary transaction-based accounts ensuring they are processed both accurately and within SLA. Process other administrative tasks as they relate to the Broker Dealer Administrative team.
  • Partner with financial professionals to get items back into "good order". Respond quickly and accurately to assist our clients.
  • Build and maintain securities transfers for ACATs, Non-ACATs, and mutual funds.
  • Ensure accurate and correct paperwork is received and handled appropriately applying available resources to research requests, inquiries, or problems and provide prompt information and/or service.
  • Represent the company and in a professional manner to ensure retention and accumulation of assets.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required
Who You Are:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of related experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Shows a track record of consistently being present and accountable.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and process information with accuracy.
  • Ability to learn how to navigate systems and applications.
  • Communicate with others using desktop applications like Office 365.
  • Demonstrate a genuine desire to assist and serve others.
  • Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Previous participation in a career readiness progress is a plus.
Salary Range Information:Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.Salary Range:$18.73 - $21.92 / hourTime Off Program:Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. This role will start out as a full time, onsite opportunity with the potential for a hybrid work schedule arrangement in the future.
