Job Description:   The Teacher is distinguished from other classes by the focus on educating students through classroom instruction as well as through specialized education and skills development programs in schools and throughout the District as Teacher Specialists.

Job Qualifications: Arizona Elementary or Secondary Certificate with Middle Grades Science as an approved area. SEI endorsement preferred.

Licensing/Certification Requirements: Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.

Employment Information: 2025-26 school year; 194 work days (216 day new teacher calendar)

Future Requirement:  Literacy Endorsement (unless you hold a Reading K-8, Reading K-12 or Reading Specialist K-12 endorsement)
Timeline:

• Teachers who were certified on or before 8/1/2025 have until 8/1/2028 to obtain the literacy endorsement.
• Teachers who certify after 8/1/2025 will have 3 years from certificate issuance to obtain the literacy endorsement.
• Teachers who graduate from AZ colleges in 2025 should have completed the coursework and should have the certificate on their licenses.
