About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in San Bernardino, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in San Bernardino, CA
• Schedule: 3x a week, morning or afternoon
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
• Focus Subject: Reading Comprehension, SEL

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with students with Autism and/or intellectual or developmental disabilities
• Strong understanding of reading instruction at the high school or functional skills level
• Ability to support emotional regulation and teach appropriate social behaviors
• Skilled in creating a structured yet engaging and fun learning environment
• English/Spanish bilingual preferred
• Friendly, respectful, and able to establish rapport quickly with both students and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized, structured instruction based on the student’s needs and learning style
• Incorporate visual aids, games, and interest-based activities (e.g., karaoke, racquetball, basketball, dancing) to build engagement and trust
• Break down academic tasks into manageable steps and offer positive reinforcement
• Respond to moments of frustration or avoidance with calm redirection and empathy
• Communicate regularly with the family to provide updates on academic progress and social-emotional development
• Collaborate with existing supports when possible to align with IEP goals
