We are seeking a hands-on and proactive HR Manager to oversee the human resources function for our US operations, supporting a team of approximately 40 employees across our Denver and Los Angeles offices.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who thrives at the intersection of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will be instrumental in shaping the employee experience, driving HR compliance, and aligning people strategies with business goals.
Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture (based in the UK), you’ll have the autonomy to lead locally, while collaborating with our global team to strengthen a culture of innovation, inclusivity and collaboration.
This is a part-time, Denver-based position, with occasional travel to our Los Angeles office.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead full-cycle recruitment, from job postings and interviews to offers and onboarding
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to attract diverse, high-quality candidates
HR Compliance & Policy
• Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and HR documentation
• Maintain and update employee personnel records in Hibob (our HR integrated system), ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Employee Relations & Engagement
• Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance on all HR matters
• Handle employee concerns with empathy, discretion and professionalism
• Organize engagement initiatives, surveys and team-building activities
Performance Management & Development
• Coordinate performance review cycles and continuous feedback processes
• Support learning, development and career progression initiatives
• Manage performance improvement plans and guide disciplinary processes as needed
• Provide coaching to managers on addressing underperformance and ensuring accountability
Compensation & Benefits
• Administer benefits programs (health, dental, 401(k), PTO)
• Build and maintain strong relationships with our benefits broker to evaluate plan options, negotiate competitive pricing and ensure optimal employee coverage
• Collaborate with the finance team on semi-monthly payroll and benefits administration

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
• Deep knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices
• Experience working in a small business or startup environment is highly desirable
• HR professional certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus
• Experience of working with an HRIS (such as HiBob or Bamboo) and an ATS (such as PinPoint or GreenHouse) is desirable
