The Perioperative Services Resource Technician assumes responsibility for preparation and reprocessing of procedural equipment and supplies for direct patient care services and is also cross trained to the operating room to perform as a patient care technician. This role will utilize in-depth knowledge of infection control practices, equipment function, testing, and maintenance, and is accountable for monitoring activities to ensure safe and effective service support. This position provides rapid response to customer (nurse/physician/patient/family) needs and requests. This position works in collaboration with the Central Sterile Processing Manager and Nurse Manager, Operating Room. This position reports directly to the Nurse Manager, Operating Room.

Responsibilities
- Flexes to perform patient care technician duties in the Operating Room including room stocking, turnover, cleaning, patient transport.
- Independently performs all required and necessary cleaning and high-level disinfection of all endoscopic equipment and accessories
- Maintains competencies in extensive infection control knowledge regarding high-level disinfection and sterility
- Proactively maintains complex equipment with precise functional checks and adjustments
Education/Accredited Programs
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills/Abilities
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient population served through self-development and participation in unit and departmental inservices on a regular basis, including age-specific competencies on the Learning Network.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred. Willingness to become proficient in infection control practices in the Endoscopy setting is required.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrates customer service skills consistent with GFH values and mission.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Basic math skills with ability to compute figures.

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $18.25 to $27.37per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
