EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

The position requires an associate degree in Business Administration or a related field. A minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in core transportation operations is required. Direct experience with paratransit services is desired. Requires a working knowledge of transit operations and maintenance, requirements, and compliance practices. Proficiency in common computer programs including Microsoft Office is required, as well as knowledge of primary departmental software platforms, web-based programs and computerized management maintenance systems. Proficiency with basic office equipment such as mobile phones digital cameras and similar devices is also required. In lieu of a degree, directly related experience can be substituted on a year-for year basis.

INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.

SUMMARY 

The Mobility Operations Field Inspector will provide monitoring, auditing, and field evaluations of O&M service contractors to support the contract compliance oversight function within the Office of Mobility. The position will monitor service delivery to ensure efficient, safe, reliable operations and support paratransit services as directed. Daily duties may include field observations, auditing, incident/complaint response, and other related activities. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Audits and documents contractor performance and compliance activities related to contractual requirements. 

2. Monitors and evaluates contractor service delivery for schedule adherence (on time performance), operator performance, and quality customer service. 

3. Performs field activities, including trip verification, accidents and incidents response, and assisting with locational issues regarding service delivery. 

4. Accurately prepares and reviews computer and manually generated reports on a regular basis; documents actual performance metrics and activities such as departure time, arrival times, etc. of specific trips for use by management and data analysis. 

5. Provides operational support for appropriate MARTA staff and contractor personnel. 6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work is ordinarily performed in a standard office environment and in the field. The position must be able to work in emergency and high-pressure situations.
