The employee in this position will work with behaviorally challenged students to improve their attendance and progress toward transition goals for successful transition to home school and or graduation and post-secondary opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Thorough knowledge of behavior interventions and strategies.
• Working knowledge of normal child development.
• Working knowledge of general management practices.
• Skill in adapting individualized curriculum and behavior interventions.
• Ability to select age-appropriate interventions for individual students.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Thorough knowledge of behavior interventions, theory, methods, and their proper application in the educational environment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of normal child development.
• Demonstrates knowledge of general management practices.
• Demonstrates skill in team collaboration.
• Ability to plan and collaborate with a variety of staff members.
• Ability to collect and analyze data.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form to a wide variety of audiences.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
• Must be able to perform medium work exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects.
• Must possess the visual acuity to operate required equipment and motor vehicles, use measuring devices, and inspect work for accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to work standards and instructions.
• Must also possess the visual acuity to prepare data and statistics, work with figures, and records processes, operate a computer, and do extensive research and reading.
Minimum Education and Experience:
• Must have a degree from an accredited college
• Must hold an NC teaching license
