POSITION: Future Operations Planning Analyst

LOCATION: Tampa, FL

STATUS: Full time – Contingent Hire     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Security/Defense Studies, Strategic Studies, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional military operational planning experience, with at least 5 years supporting Combatant Command (CCMD), Service Component Command, or Joint Task Force (JTF) operations.
• Certifications: Completion of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I (required). 2. Completion of formal USMC Planning Process (MCPP) training and familiarity with Joint Planning Process (JPP)(required).
• Citizenship and Clearance: U.S. Citizen with Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
• Travel: Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support contingency planning, exercises, and operational events.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present planning recommendations to senior leaders. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and classified/unclassified collaboration systems.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Master’s Degree in National Security Studies, Strategic Studies, or Military Operational Art and Science preferred.
• Educational Training: Phase II or Service-equivalent senior-level education (e.g., Marine Corps War College, Naval War College, Army War College, Air War College) highly desirable.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Provide knowledge and application of the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP) in both Service and Joint operational environments.
• Lead Operational Planning Teams (OPTs) in deliberate, crisis action, and contingency planning.
• Provide expertise with the Joint Staff Global Force Management Process, including force sourcing, allocation, and apportionment.
• Lead with knowledge of Marine Corps capabilities, force structure, and limitations in CENTCOM operational planning and force employment.
• Support Crisis Action Planning Teams (CAPTs) and facilitate the transition from deliberate planning to executable crisis/contingency orders.
• Reviewing, analyzing, and providing recommendations for USCENTCOM and MARCENT-level plans, orders and initiatives (up to TS/SCI classification).
• Drafting and producing FRAGOs, WARNOs, and branch plans, and integrating them with Current Operations and Plans efforts.
• Supporting CENTCOM J-35 Plans Battle Rhythm events and ability to provide timely meeting notes, products, and briefings required from those events.
• Maintaining planning products, information papers, orders, and directives in compliance with records management requirements.
• Coordinate planning equities between MARCENT Future Operations, MARCENT G-5 Planning Group, and CENTCOM planning elements.
• Conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and produce planning products under tight operational deadlines.
