TERI empowers individuals with special needs and models an inclusive community where everyone learns, creates, and thrives together. As a Job Coach, you’ll provide training, direct support, and oversight for Interns in our Integrated Employment Program— while documenting progress and building partnerships with local businesses to create meaningful job training opportunities.

This position is ideal for someone who embraces change and understands the importance of consistency and follow-through in supporting individuals with unique abilities. The role may include multi-month assignments at different sites— such as Vista, San Marcos, or Escondido— with varied schedules (e.g., 10am–5pm for one rotation, 8am–3pm for another). Flexibility and adaptability are essential for success in this position.

  • Maintain documentation related to IPP goals, attendance, progress, and health/safety
  • Transport Interns to and from work training sites as needed
  • Support interns in discovering strengths, overcoming barriers, and developing workplace skills
  • Teach job-specific tasks as well as essential “soft” skills (e.g., communication, professionalism)
  • Assist with accommodations and provide crisis support when necessary
  • Identify and maintain internship/business site partnerships in the community
  • Ensure Interns’ health, safety, and best interests are prioritized at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications –

  • One year of experience supporting individuals with special needs preferred
  • Experience in adult vocational or volunteer environments preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two years of college or an AA degree preferred
  • Must pass a criminal background check and have an acceptable driving history
