Arcosa Marine is searching for a Continuous Improvement Specialist in our Ashland City, TN barge manufacturing plant. The Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist supports plant initiatives focused on improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role is hands-on, helping with data collection, process documentation, and supporting improvement projects. The Specialist is an entry-level role designed to build lean knowledge and provide direct support to the CI team.

Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is part of Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collect and organize production data to highlight waste, downtime, and bottlenecks
  • Participate in Kaizen events, 5S activities, and improvement projects
  • Document standard work instructions, process flows, and action items
  • Assist with updating performance boards and CI tracking metrics
  • Conduct time studies and basic process analysis
  • Partner with CI Engineers and plant personnel to implement improvements
  • Learn and apply lean concepts such as 5S, standard work, and root cause analysis

What You’ll Need:

  • 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related environment preferred
  • Familiarity with basic lean principles a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and basic data tools
  • Associate’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent work experience
