Golf Grounds Spray Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Spray Technician to join our golf course maintenance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with lawn care or turf experience who are looking to transition into the specialized world of golf course agronomy.

Under the direction of the Director of Agronomy and Superintendent, the Spray Technician is responsible for the precise application of pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides, and other turf health products across the golf course and surrounding property.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers in accordance with environmental regulations and label directions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all chemical applications.
• Ensure chemical storage and mixing areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and inspection of spray equipment.
• Observe and report turf conditions, pest issues, or unusual activity to the Superintendent and Assistants.
• Follow all safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE), in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
• Maintain flexibility to assist with general golf course maintenance as needed.
• Complete pre- and post-operation inspections of all equipment used.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with chemical applications in lawn care, landscaping, or golf course maintenance preferred.
• Current pesticide applicator’s license
• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and perform physical labor.

Experience Requirements

Golf course experience preferred; spray application experience required.

Special requirements

 Category 24 Pesticide License is required.
