About the role
This People & Talent Manager, US position is multi-faceted with 3 key areas for you to focus on: Hiring, HR & Office Management.
We are in the process of finding our brand new office in New York to accommodate our growing US team and you’ll be in charge of ensuring that this space is beautifully presented, and that the team and visitors have everything they need.
As well as day to day office management, you’ll be supporting US hiring and HR, really making sure that we’re finding exceptional talent, and that we’re fully compliant across all HR disciplines in the US.
We’re a lean, impactful People team of 5, working with around 400 team members globally at MUBI. You’ll report to our Head of People & Talent based in London and will work closely with our People & Talent Manager and our Office Manager, both also based in London. This is a really exciting opportunity to learn and grow across multiple parts of a People function.
This role is based in New York City and requires 2-3 days on-site at our offices in Manhattan. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role right now.
Where you’ll have impact:
Day to day office management of our New York City space!
Guiding hiring managers on recruitment, helping them to attract top talent, all while delivering an exceptional candidate experience
Supporting our People operations – drafting agreements, maintaining compliance with federal and state laws, and supporting on employee relations matters
As our US HR specialist, monitoring federal and state regulatory changes and ensuring organizational compliance through policy updates and guidance to the People team
Contributing to projects in our People roadmap, currently involving performance, progression, benefits, goal setting, growth, training sessions and many more exciting things!
Supporting our regular people projects and processes, which include our annual employee survey and our biannual performance review cycles
Helping to smoothly and successfully onboard new joiners and elevate our existing practices
Assisting with creating & implementing our MUBI policies and guidance to keep the cultural dynamic of the business consistent across all of our global locations
Organizing team events and finding other ways for the New York team to connect throughout the year
What you'll bring:
Proven experience working in a People/HR function in a fast paced environment
Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and practices
An understanding of People challenges that the business might be facing at this stage of our growth, and a drive to propose potential courses of action
A growth mindset - MUBI is evolving fast and change is inevitable, we are looking for someone who sees this as an opportunity
Empathy to enable team progression, knowing when to challenge respectfully, and approach problems with curiosity and eagerness
Experience supporting projects that create more efficient processes, e.g. when it comes to performance, progression, workflows
Strong communication skills – we’re constantly launching a lot of exciting things, which require engaging, fun & informative content!
Experience or familiarity using HR tools. Our MUBI People stack - HiBob (HRIS, Performance Reviews, Employee Survey), JustWorks (US Payroll & Benefits), Deel (EOR & Contractor Hiring), Ashby (ATS)
