POSITION SUMMARY:
City Rise Traffic is seeking a hands-on and highly organized Operations Coordinator to support traffic control operations and logistics at our Bakersfield branch. Reporting directly to the Branch Operations Manager, this role plays a vital part in ensuring efficient coordination of traffic control equipment, sign fabrication, and Sales & Rental logistics. Key responsibilities include pulling and preparing equipment for jobsites, overseeing inventory levels, supporting vehicle and equipment inspections, and ensuring all materials are ready and available for timely dispatch. The Operations Coordinator will also assist with job scheduling, deliveries, and maintaining the overall organization and functionality of the yard and branch, including equipment. This is a fast-paced, physical, and detail-oriented role central to the success of field operations and customer satisfaction.
Equipment & Inventory Coordination
- Review traffic control plans to ensure equipment requirements are met
- Pull and prepare internal inventory for jobsites
- Manage the readiness and delivery of traffic control equipment
- Perform equipment inspections, perform minor repairs, and coordinate external maintenance when needed
- Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and maintain a clean and organized warehouse space
- Handle distribution of PPE and standard field equipment
Sales, Rentals & Sign Fabrication
- Coordinate with management, and Sales & Rental teams to schedule, prepare, and dispatch orders
- Oversee pick-up and delivery of rental equipment
- Perform sign fabrication tasks, ensuring all signage is accurately produced, compliant with project requirements, and ready for timely deployment
Dispatch Support
- Coordinate job orders and input them into the scheduling system as needed
- Assist with routing, scheduling, and dispatching under the direction of the Branch Operations Manager
- Using scheduling software, conduct virtual job-site assessments to determine job-site needs
- Review traffic control plans and permits to ensure proper job setup, crew & equipment assignment
General Operational Support
- Respond to customer and technician inquiries, providing remote support as needed
- Support administrative functions
- Assist in implementing new policies and procedures as directed by the Branch Operations Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational efficiency
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is resourceful, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, logistics-driven environment. Required and preferred qualifications include:
Required:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of operations support experience in the traffic control or related industry
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse support experience, construction area sign fabrication a must
- Able to read and interpret traffic control plans and permits
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); strong computer experience is a must
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working nights or weekends as needed
Preferred:
- Familiarity with dispatching processes
- Basic maintenance or mechanical skills
- Salesforce experience
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Central and Southern California geography
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a high-volume environment
- Team-oriented with a positive, solutions-focused attitude
