The Clinic Nurse at Holton Family Medicine plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within a family medicine clinic setting. This position involves assessing patient health, administering treatments, and collaborating closely with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care plans. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patient progress, educating patients and families on health management, and maintaining accurate medical records. By providing compassionate and efficient nursing services, the Clinic Nurse contributes to improved patient outcomes and overall clinic efficiency. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Kansas.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited nursing program (diploma, associate, or bachelor’s degree).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in outpatient or clinic nursing.
- Strong understanding of nursing principles, patient care standards, and medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a community hospital or outpatient clinic environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Additional training or certification in patient education, chronic disease management, or wound care.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care and cultural competence.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments including vital signs, medical history, and symptom evaluation to inform care decisions.
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, medication management, and post-treatment care to promote health and wellness.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately in electronic health records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with clinical procedures and prepare patients for examinations or diagnostic tests as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control and safety guidelines.
- Respond promptly to patient concerns and emergencies, escalating issues to appropriate medical staff when necessary.
Skills:
The Clinic Nurse utilizes clinical assessment skills daily to evaluate patient conditions and determine appropriate interventions. Strong communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in medication administration and adherence to safety protocols ensures patient well-being and compliance with healthcare regulations.
