SUMMARY: Issue and receive toolroom inventory daily. Always enforce strict control of the tool inventory and the condition of the tools. Responsible for inventory, tracking and distribution of tools/equipment, while ensuring project goals, inventory control measures and customer service objectives are met.  

 

NOTE: This is a project-based role. Assigned U.S. site location to be determined based on project award(s). 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for issuing and receiving toolroom items daily
  • Responsible for the daily visual inspection of all items issued for the correct color code and any damage
  • Complete a daily list of items that are needed to stock the toolroom properly
  • Stores/removes/loads and unloads all types of materials from storage bins, pallets and/or vehicles.
  • Operates manual or mechanical material handling devices (where applicable) and stocks inventory shelves.
  • Reads customer order, work order, shipping order or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Assorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size type, style, or color. 
  • Move materials and supplies preparing for delivery.
  • Fills requisition, work orders or request for materials, tools or stock items, using an RF scan gun.
  • Records material items received or distributed.
  • Will maintain inventory records and complete daily cycle counts. 
  • Perform basic/routine repairs to tools/ equipment.
  • Follow all hazardous waste handling guidelines.
  • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties as required.
  •  Establish a positive working relationship with internal/external customers.
  • Must maintain daily and open line of communication with management.
  • Performs routine housekeeping tasks to maintain the work area in a clean and organized orderly condition.
  • Complete job responsibilities in a timely manner, maintaining maximum productivity. 
  • Must be punctual and reliable.  
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

EDUCATION, JOB EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE and/or SKILLS: 

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five years’ general warehouse, preferably in a tool room setting required.
  • Prior inventory control experience/responsibility preferred.  
  • Strong mathematical abilities/aptitude, analysis skills.
  • Experience performing minor/basic repairs to tools and equipment preferred.
  • Broad/well-rounded knowledge construction tools and consumables, required.  
  • Must possess the following skills: exceptionally organized, customer service driven, excellent verbal communication, attention to detail, possess a sense of urgency, and a passion for quality.
  • High level of communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required, with ability to respond to inquiries at all levels.
  • Must be computer literate and moderate to proficient with Excel.
  • Excellent time management skills/abilities while being results-oriented with a strong attention to detail/follow-up.
  • Self-motivated, self-reliant, able to work with little direction, while exercising independent judgment and decisions.
  • Must always display a professional demeanor, while maintaining creditability and trustworthiness amongst both internal/external customers. 
  • Capable of multi-tasking and flexibility to change direction or focus as priorities dictate.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with ability to provide workable solutions.
  • Solid customer service skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels with a variety of personalities (internal/external customers).
  • Positive attitude, professional appearance.          

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATION: 

Able to safely operate and maintain a current forklift certification.  Must be able to pass on-site security (background), drug screen and applicable safety training courses.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.  

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS: 

Individuals will be required to frequently walk, stand, lift, kneel, reach, handle, grasp, feel, talk, hear and demonstrate eye/hand/foot coordination. Close vision required by this job.  Employees are required to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.  Position frequently demands medium physical work.  

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

This position is based primarily in a warehouse/tool room - trailer setting.  Involves working alone and collaborating as a part of a team, often at a fast pace. Some stress may occur. 

 

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items up to 50 pounds.

 

Environmental conditions (indoors and/or outdoors) include frequent exposure to extreme cold, heat, temperature changes and humidity.     

 

Occasionally the performance of this position will require exposure to production/manufacturing areas, which may result in being near moving mechanical parts or be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  These respective areas will require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection or hard hats. Noise level in the production/manufacturing areas is usually loud.

 

AFTER HOUR OR TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Availability as requested/required for after-hour emergency calls, necessary overtime as the workload dictates.  Demonstrate flexibility with work shifts as they may change due to workload or site demands.
