In the role of a Program Manager, you will oversee the design, development, and successful implementation of new projects into production as well as to perform other related duties in conjunction with other employees and departments contributing to the overall team effort, efficient process, and safe working environment. This position includes many essential components necessary for successful and efficient manufacturing, and as such, shares full responsibility for the final product delivered to the customer. 

Performance skills will be based on execution of work, ability to meet projected timeline and budgetary commitments, ability to maintain expected levels of quality and control, communication, continual improvement, and the ability to work in a team environment and successfully coordinate the operations of multiple departments to achieve success.

The successful incumbent must be able to balance multiple projects at one time while maintaining the same level of quality across each program.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for the successful introduction of assigned new projects and programs.  Act as the single point of contact for customer communication, responsible for customer satisfaction, and for relaying all customer requirements and expectations clearly and effectively to all other departments and internal personnel.
  • Directly responsible for account growth, lead the development of account plans with Business Development Manager (BDM), and must have a strong command over sales pipeline.
  • Ability to identify, implement, and provide mentorship on process improvement opportunities that increase team efficiency. Provide advice and mentorship to project team members and less-experienced project managers.
  • Exhibit strong project leadership while managing an entire portfolio of programs, which will include both smaller projects as well as large programs with multiple sub-projects.
  • Demonstrate a superior ability to generate ideas and address product and program requirements 
  • Create and control project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project gantt charts, action plans, status updates, and budge tracking controls.
  • Create Project Charters and manage Change Control trackers with customers
  • Coordination of all project activities/deliverables across all internal departments/functional groups, and within the customer.
  • Foster teamwork while leading cross-functional project teams to the successful execution of project requirements and goals.
  • Responsible for the development of validation strategies for new products, transfers and/or process improvements.
  • Provide support to business development and quoting teams.
  • Provide customer support for product Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of molded components as well as assembly products, working with material/supplier sourcing, manufacturing engineering, quality, and other Subject Matter Experts (SME).
  • Provide customer support for mold, fixturing, work cell layout, and automation design, working with material/supplier sourcing, manufacturing engineering, quality, and other Subject Matter Experts (SME).
  • Act in accordance with ISO and other regulatory requirements, and company procedures. 
  • Handle all customer communication activities and coordination of customer meetings  
  • Initiate, author, and approve validation protocols and completion reports as needed
  • Drive specification and procurement of tooling and equipment required for assigned programs
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles for new product launches
  • Support the development of work center layouts, estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs
  • Identify and execute improvement projects to existing manufacturing process
  • Evaluate existing product flow, investigate and identify new technology developments including automation based solutions, and other technical improvements to drive process improvements to enhance quality, safety, customer satisfaction, production standards, and cost efficiencies
  • Oversee production, installation, calibration, operation, maintenance, repair and development of new, modified and/or existing equipment and fixtures
  • Responsible for operator training process/certification for new products
  • Support standardization practices across manufacturing or engineering activities
  • Support continuous improvement of validation, project management and other ISO and company processes and procedures
  • Responsible for planning and forecasting activities with scheduling, customer service and accounting personnel
  • Support initial production runs as needed  
  • Generate customer quotes for engineering services, equipment, product pricing, and molds
  • Perform contract review process and identify possible financial gaps if present
  • Initiate Engineering Change Requests (ECO) at product launch, throughout the duration of the project, and release to production     
  • Maintain engineering and production files with proper paperwork and documentation 

 Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent years of experience in a related field 
  • Strong ability to think outside the box and develop solutions to complex issues
  • Able to work effectively in a team 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills  
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of MS Project
  • High level of aptitude in MS Office software, virtual meeting applications (IE MS Teams), and general Windows OS.
  • Basic CAD knowledge, preferably in Solidworks
  • Medium to high knowledge in statistical analysis
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • GDT knowledge is a plus
  • PLC, Automation and/or Injection molding process background/knowledge is a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma background/knowledge is a plus 

 Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Experience within the medical device industry
  • Previous experience with lean manufacturing concepts

 ADA Requirements:

  • Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally
  • Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
  • Travel by air or car occasionally

Annual Salary Range $110,000 - $138,000
