In this role, you'll:
Work as part of a team delivering essential road infrastructure improvements on various minor works projects.
This role will see you operate a variety of heavy plant machinery—such as backhoes, excavators, loaders, bobcats, mixers, stabilisers, and rollers—while performing both routine and complex manual tasks.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining safety standards, conducting equipment checks, identifying environmental hazards, and contributing to high-quality project outcomes.
You will drive operational excellence and workplace safety in a dynamic construction environment, helping deliver a critical project on time while developing your skills across multiple plant types.
We currently have 2 x fixed term full-time roles available (up to 30 June 2026) - both based at Narrandera.
TfNSW take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously therefore to be eligible for this role it is a requirement that you must reside within 70 km of Narrandera.
You may be required to work outside of normal working hours, and you may also be required to travel throughout the region and work at locations away from home in this role. Allowances relating to working away from home and accommodation apply.

About you
We’re seeking safety-focused plant operators who are team players with experience in civil construction and in safe and efficient operations of plant such as backhoes, loaders, bobcats, mixers, stabilisers, and rollers.
You’ll be confident, and highly capable operating major plant and have proven experience rectifying simple hazards without direction and reporting them accordingly.
You must hold the following qualifications:
• Current Construction Industry White Card
• Current unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence
• Traffic control certification is desirable but not an essential requirement for this position.
