Position: Office Assistant-PW Administration
Department: Public Works
Hourly Range: $22.26 - $25.77
Classification: Temporary
Non-Exempt – Overtime Eligible
Job Summary: Under general supervision, assist office staff by performing clerical duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Handling incoming calls and other communications
- Manage filing system and recording information as needed
- Update paperwork, maintain documents and word processing
- Coordinate events as necessary
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Greet clients and visitors
- Help organize and maintain office common areas
- Perform general office duties and run errands
- Maintain supply inventory
- Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail
- Collect and stamp outgoing mail

Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Handle public inquiries on the phone
- Deal tactfully and effectively with staff, participants, and the public
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and proficiency in other industry-standard software applications is desirable
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance
- Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Business or a related field is desirable
