The future of mining is in the hands of the next generation!
The Nevada Gold Mines Next Generation Bursary is designed to support students who specialize in one of our key technical engineering fields and will reduce the stress of educational costs, provide paid internships, and secure post-graduation employment.
This program will seek to select and provide financial support to dependent children of NGM employees who are well-motivated to achieve excellence in higher education, determined to succeed in the mining industry, and become future leaders of NGM!
Eligibility:
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 26 at the time the application is received (Required).
- Must be a dependent child (a child, including an adopted child, stepchild, or child for whom the employee is the permanent legal guardian) of an active Nevada Gold Mines employee. If both parents work for Nevada Gold Mines the applicant may receive only the maximum award amount per year (Required).
- Must be a graduating high school senior or a high school graduate, a recipient of a General Education Diploma (GED), or a current undergraduate enrolled in a full-time (12+ credits per semester) course of study at an accredited college or university in the United States (Required).
- Must meet the minimum admission requirements of the college or university (Required).
- Must maintain a declared bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geotechnical engineering, geological engineering, geology, metallurgical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering at the college or university (Required).
- Must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) or above on a 4.0 scale. Incoming freshman must provide high school transcripts, declaration of major, and college acceptance letters to be considered for this program. Bursary holders must continue to provide transcripts as requested by NGM, demonstrating they meet the minimum GPA requirement in order to continue receiving the bursary (Required).
- The Company shall have the discretion to decide who should be granted the bursary.
- In exercising discretion, the company shall be guided by its business needs and economic conditions.
In addition to financial support, participants will be guaranteed participation in NGM’s paid summer internship program to gain practical and early career professional development. For each year a student receives at least $10,000 in support through the program, they will commit equally to working a year at NGM post-graduation.
All applications must be received by November 30th, 2025.
