Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Grade 4 (Hourly).

Position Description:

The University of Louisville School of Dentistry is seeking a Billing Supervisor. The Billing Supervisor serves as the patient account subject matter expert and provides supervision of several staff members who review claims, post payments, and process rejections and pre authorizations in the Dental Billing office.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Supervisor and SME of Chart Auditing.

  • Works complicated chart audits to satisfy legal and contractual requirements.

  • Review submitted treatment plans to ensure accurate coding; review treatment plans with patients to explain costs and fees associated with the treatment plan.

  • Serve as a patient financial advisor, providing patients with available financial options (payment plans/healthcare credit cards, etc.) for planned treatment and manage said financial agreements. 

  • Train, assign and supervise staff and maintain appropriate records.

  • Review and audit charts; enter financial/demographic data; answer inquiries pertaining to patient accounts; accept and post patient payments; issues receipts and balance ash drawer/bank deposit reports.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.

  • Experience in a dental or medical clinic setting including medical coding.

  • Experience in bookkeeping, business or cash handling

  • Knowledge of an electronic health record database

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills

  • Previous supervisory experience 

Target Compensation Maximum:

$32.17

Target Compensation Minimum:

$21.45

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
