LaunchTech is seeking a Security Assistant to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) at Schriever AFB. This role provides essential security support to the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense Program, helping safeguard critical assets, people, and information.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Provide security support to the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense Program
Receive and process incoming and outgoing visitor access requests
Assist with access control of designated areas
Serve as the alternate block captain to ensure workforce safety, report hazards, and assist with evacuations
Ensure incident reporting issues are promptly addressed throughout the investigation period, including initial, follow-up, and final reports
Conduct INFOSEC self-inspections and participate in INFOSEC reviews
Attend quarterly security manager meetings
Assist with writing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect process or procedural changes
Participate in weekly team meetings
Assist with the management of security documents and databases
Report suspected compromises or loss of classified information to the Facility Security Manager
Support the Facility Security Manager with daily operations, training, and event coordination
Prepare and deliver security briefings as required
Provide support to the MDA/GM Security Manager and Facility Security Manager, including General Services Administration (GSA) safe assignments
Take on additional duties as directed by the Facility Security Manager
What You Bring

Function as a self-starter who identifies risks, issues, and opportunities to the Facility Security Manager
Communicate effectively with excellent presentation, oral, and written skills for interactions with senior leadership and customers
Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and a positive attitude
Handle sensitive information with discretion
Basic Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a DoD environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with the Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
Knowledge of DoDM 5200.1
Experience in a classified environment
Experience safeguarding classified material
Knowledge of CFR 32 Part 117 “National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)”
Understanding of classified document markings
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
Completion of FSO Curriculum for Possessing Facilities (CDSE)
Previous security experience within or supporting DoD programs
