Payroll Processing Specialist Wage Information - $23.00-$24.00/hr
About the Role
HigherRing is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Payroll Processing Specialist with demonstrated experience using Sage100 Contractor payroll software and Workmax or similar. This role will ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing for our client, while supporting their people-focused and values-based approach to business.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of payroll best practices, enjoys working with numbers and people, and understands the importance of handling sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality. They must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process weekly payroll using Sage 100 Contractor and Workmax.
- Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Verify timesheets, employee classifications, and compensation changes
- Manage deductions (benefits, taxes, retirement contributions, etc.)
- Prepare and distribute pay statements and required payroll reports
- Support year-end payroll functions, including W-2s and tax filings
- Partner with HR and Finance to resolve discrepancies and answer employee payroll inquiries
- Nice to have: experience with union payroll and prevailing wage
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Professional Experience
- Proven experience as a Payroll Processor, Payroll Specialist, or similar role
- Proficiency with Sage payroll systems (required)
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance, and best practices
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Technical Requirements
- Dedicated, distraction-free home workspace with a door that closes
- Hardwired internet connection (Ethernet, not WiFi)
- Reliable high-speed internet (50+ Mbps download, 5+ Mbps upload)
- Fluent English required; additional languages beneficial
