Stock Controller chez Natures Way Foods Ltd

Stock Controller | Up to £36,000 base salary | Days only | Chichester

At Natures Way Foods, we’re looking for a Stock Controller to join our Merston factory, based in Chichester.  You will take the lead in our WIP and prep areas, making sure all ingredients are ready for production and prepared to the highest standards. You’ll drive efficiency, manage stock and inventory systems (including AX), and ensure full accountability of all items.

Working closely with the Stock Control Manager and site leadership team, you’ll identify risks, solve problems, and keep production running smoothly. Above all, you’ll champion health and safety while creating a supportive, high-performing team environment.

Shift pattern

We operate a rotational shift pattern covering 7 to 7 covering days only. You will work a total of 14 days over a 28-day period. Typically, you would be working as follows:  

Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Week 2 - Wednesday & Thursday

Key responsibilities

• Take charge of daily operations, guiding and motivating the prep team to deliver high standards of performance and accuracy
• Maintain stock levels that are accurate, optimised, and aligned with production requirements
• Carry out regular audits and stock takes to ensure inventory records fully match physical stock
• Implement, manage, and improve inventory systems to track stock movement, quickly identify discrepancies, and work with the Shift/Area Manager on effective corrective actions
• Escalate and communicate any stock or financial variances to the Stock Control Manager with clear recommendations
• Ensure stock rotation and storage is carried out on a strict FIFO basis while maintaining compliance with health & safety standards
• Manage the AX system to provide accurate, real-time data on all job stages, ensuring full traceability and visibility of products for the production team
• Continuously review and enhance stock control procedures to streamline replenishment and operational efficiency
• Train, coach, and mentor high-care operators where required, supporting skills growth and team capability

Experience/skills required

• Proven experience in stock control, inventory management or supply chain operations
• Sound ERP (AX) systems knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite or similar for reporting and analysis
• Allergen controls awareness
• Chilled food multi component experience
• Able to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
