Children’s Museum of Atlanta is looking for an HR professional who understands the breadth of Human Resources, has experience in some (but not necessarily all) areas, and is eager to grow their skills.


In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Director of Finance & Operations to support the full employee lifecycle—from hiring to development to engagement—while helping us continue to shape a workplace culture that reflects and strengthens our mission and values, to spark every child’s imagination, sense of discovery, and learning through the power of play. We do it by fostering communication, championing play, tending to community, and leading with integrity

The HR Generalist position is full time, exempt, position with an annualized salary of $47,000-$50,000 per year DOE.  This position reports to the Director of Finance and Operations. Primary Role:

Responsible for assisting the Director of Finance and Operations with all aspects of the Museum’s Human Resource management.  


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage full lifecycle of employees: recruiting, onboard, orientation, exit interviews, terminations
  • Training: with Director develop and run training programs, work with managers and supervisors to develop employees
  • Manage and track mandatory trainings such as anti-harassment
  • Employee Relations: Coordinate performance evaluations and probationary reviews, conduct investigations, provide guidance and coaching, run exit interviews
  • Legal: Ensure compliance with Federal state and local laws as well as various other mandates
  • Reporting: compile various reports as needed 
  • Open Enrollment: help roll out and manage all Museum open enrollment periods.
  • Administration: Periodic review, update and roll out of Job descriptions, employee handbook, and policies, maintain all employee files traditional and electronic. 
  • Interoffice communication
  • Monthly employee engagement treats or activities
  • Facilitate all team meeting and trainings
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.


Requirements

Skills

  • Knowledge of employment law 
  • Ability to represent the museum and its mission and values to large and small groups
  • Excellent people-management skills and ability to work in a collaborative, flexible environment that encourages innovation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office tools
  • Knowledgeable about database maintenance
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • HRIS system experience expert, Paylocity preferred

Education:

BS in Human Resources preferred or equivalent experience

SHRM-CP or PHR a plus

Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources
