We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Assistant Director of Human Resources who is adaptable, agile, and deeply aligned with our values of care, inclusion, empathy, and respect. This role supports the Director of HR in guiding all aspects of the colleague experience, serving as a trusted partner across departments. The Assistant Director of HR will play an important role in implementing structure and standards, helping to shape policies, procedures, and programs that foster a supportive and consistent workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Collaboration: Partner with the Director of HR to implement strategies that support our culture and values. Collaborate with all departments to ensure colleagues feel supported and engaged.
- Staffing and Talent Strategy: Actively participate in interviewing and candidate selection. Assist the Director of HR in developing staffing strategies to ensure the resort is positioned with the right talent to meet operational needs.
- Employee Engagement: Lead initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive workplace, celebrating contributions and strengthening community.
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Manage recruitment and onboarding processes. Develop tools such as checklists and programs to improve the new hire and onboarding experience.
- Performance and Coaching Support: Partner with managers on coaching conversations with colleagues, ensuring consistency and alignment with workplace standards.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Help establish, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure clarity, structure, and fairness across the resort.
- Employee Relations and Investigations: Conduct fair, impartial investigations and support resolution of workplace concerns.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to employment laws, labor regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies.
- Colleague Housing: Support the management of onsite colleague housing, ensuring a safe and positive living environment.
- J1 and Internship Programs: Oversee J1 and other internship program experiences, providing support and ensuring meaningful development opportunities.
- Training and Development: Coordinate and promote learning opportunities across departments to build adaptability and growth.
- Payroll and Administration: Assist with payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
HR Metrics and Reporting: Track and analyze HR data to guide decision-making and enhance organizational effectiveness.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 – $115,000 per year, based on experience and education.

Language: Fluent in English and Spanish.
Experience: 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in hospitality or a fast-paced service environment.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of labor laws, employment regulations, and OSHA compliance.
Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels. Proven organizational skills with adaptability to manage competing priorities.
Systems: Proficiency with HR software and tools.
Certifications: SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar credential preferred.
Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Physical Requirements: Ability to walk and move around uneven terrain at the resort property; ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; valid driver’s license; ability to work extended or irregular hours as business needs require.
