PC+ Part-Time Home Visitor/Early Learning Specialist

2025-2026 School Year

 

Position Summary:  The Parent Child Plus Home Visitor/Early Learning Specialist is responsible for providing home visits to culturally diverse families with young children beginning at age 2-4.  The focus on these visits is to facilitate how to use books and toys to stimulate verbal interactions between caregivers and their children, which will increase and support school readiness.  

 

Qualifications:          

  • High School diploma or GED required.Bachelor of Early Education/psychology preferred.
  • Completed a child development class
  • 2-3 years of experience working with young children or families.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and own transportation. 
  • Computer skills are important.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit with 5 families for 30 minutes, twice a week, facilitating reading, play, verbal interactions, behaviors and activities twice weekly according to National Parent Child Plus Home Visiting Program (PC+) criteria. Most times in-person visits, but there are a few rare exceptions that may be virtual.  
  • Will attend a weekly two hour supervisory meeting that is mandated by the National Center. (Currently, Mondays from 9:00-11:00 am.)
  • Use appropriate books and toys for young children in accordance with PC+ standards.
  • Model reading, facilitate conversation and promote developmentally appropriate play activities for parents that engage language development.
  • Prepare, and maintain reflection records, data entry completed visits, reports, and/or administer  ASQ 3, ASQ SE, and PIEL 
  • Work with PC+ Coordinator to prepare monthly reports.
  • Demonstrate a continuing commitment to professional growth.
  • Communicate in a professional, friendly manner with all families.
  • Will participate in a 16 hour mandatory training for early learning specialists before any home visits begin.  As well as onboarding requirements of the Falmouth Public Schools.  
  • You will be a mandated reporter.
  • Will conduct an ASQ 3 and ASQ- SE 2   and PIEL for each of your families.
  • Participate, via Zoom or in person, in the National PC+ conference on end of April or beginning of May 2026.  
  • Will assist coordinator with development of guide sheets, VISM selection, data entry in Daisy systems.
  • Will be videotaped during home visits for evaluation and for the National Parent Plus Center for requirements.
  • Have skilled relationship building with individuals and families while maintaining appropriate boundaries, respecting family choice and cultural competency.
  • Maintain an open and cooperative relationship with each child’s family that encourages their involvement in the program, and promotes parent-child bonding and nurturing parent-child relationships.
  • Work hours that are convenient for the parents and children being visited.
  • Assist in recruiting and enrolling program participants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the coordinator.

Reports To: PC+ Coordinator

 

Salary and Terms of Employment: $22.00 per hour for 15 hours per week (additional hours during assessment period 17-19), dependent on availability of grant funding
