Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to play a key role in the design, implementation, and support of our enterprise network infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of mission-critical healthcare systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in advanced routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), network security, and troubleshooting, coupled with the ability to lead initiatives in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, installation, and configuration of enterprise network solutions, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Implement and enforce network security controls to safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI) and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and proactively optimize capacity to guarantee high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance for clinical and administrative applications.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex network incidents, leveraging advanced diagnostic tools to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network diagrams, configuration standards, and operating procedures.
  • Partner with system administrators, cybersecurity analysts, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and secure delivery of IT services.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, vendors, and best practices to support scalability and modernization initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive network engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role. Prior experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
  • Professional-level certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of OSPF and BGP routing protocols.
  • Proficiency with Cisco platforms (routers, switches, ASA firewalls).
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls/Prisma; familiarity with Alcatel-Lucent and Aruba solutions is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of network security technologies including VPNs, ACLs, and segmentation strategies.
  • Knowledge of wireless networking standards (802.11ac/ax) and enterprise deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA requirements and the importance of safeguarding PHI.
  • High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
