Position Summary
The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for a 126-unit HUD Section 8 property serving seniors. This role supports the Property Manager and works closely with the Leasing Specialist, Service Coordinator, and Maintenance Technicians. The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for assisting with the leasing, marketing, affordable housing program compliance, resident relations, and financial record-keeping. Duties include computing, classifying, and recording numerical data, processing vendor payments and resident rent payments, and maintaining accurate property accounting records.

What you’ll do:
Assistant Property Manager
- Coordinate and assist the Property Manager with the everyday schedule
- Receive all telephone calls and in-person visits
- Listen to resident requests, concerns, and comments
- Interact with residents and assist with annual recertifications and move-ins
- Maintain the waiting list
- Process rent collections, accounts payables, and work order requests
- Work closely with the Maintenance Technician to ensure work orders are completed
- Provide general clerical assistance to the community office
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
- Secure resident signatures on appropriate paperwork and assist in lease transactions
- Organize resident files in proper Compliance order
Our ideal candidate:
- A minimum of one-year experience in a customer service-related industry and one year of apartment leasing experience, or a combination of accounting skills/education with customer service experience
- Current Yardi Voyager experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and sales ability
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment (phone, calculator, copier, fax, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and proof of vehicle insurance
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Must pass a background and drug screening (a conviction does not necessarily disqualify employment)
