Summary:

The Clinical Director serves as the independent and objective reviewer of clinical and professional concerns expressed by clients, clinicians, and internal teams. This role oversees clinical decision-making and acts as a resource for internal departments, such as Recruitment, Account Management, Human Resources, etc. The Clinical Director ensures quality of care, regulatory adherence, and consistent support for clinicians while maintaining flexibility to expand into broader leadership responsibilities as business needs evolve.

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluate and determine (or recommend, depending on level) the appropriateness of continued employment following assignment terminations for clinical or professional reasons; collaborate with HR as appropriate.
  • Respond to and counsel clinicians regarding professional or clinical concerns while on assignment; provide guidance and resolution that supports retention and client satisfaction.
  • Provide remediation for clinicians after failed math or dysrhythmia exams.
  • Conduct professional license reviews, including cases involving disciplinary action, and ensure reporting to boards and certification agencies.
  • Review candidate work history for compliance with standards; make exceptions as appropriate based on overall experience.
  • Provide training and guidance for Recruitment and Account Management teams on clinical and compliance requirements.
  • Support or oversee Compliance in ensuring Joint Commission standards and timely CMIP data submission.
  • Act as a clinical resource for all internal employees and departments.
  • Participate in the development and revision of policies, procedures, and training content related to compliance and clinical practice.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education; attend nursing conferences and (as appropriate to level) represent FlexCare in marketing and business development activities.

Education and Experience:

  • Active, unencumbered RN license required.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role; House Supervisor experience strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare staffing industry experience (internal staffing company role or travel clinician) strongly preferred.
  • Background in compliance within the healthcare staffing (travel clinician requirements and/or Joint Commission standards) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret EKG rhythms highly desired.

Pay Transparency Information:

At FlexCare Medical Staffing, we believe that pay transparency is essential for building trust and supporting a culture of fairness and accountability. To reinforce this commitment, we provide a clear range for each role's potential compensation, which includes both base salary and variable incentives.

For this role, the estimated annual compensation is between $133,000 - $255,000 USD, with the final compensation amount determined based on factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, role requirements, and location. Where applicable, the variable incentive component has a target amount, though the final payout is linked to both individual and company performance.
