As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining computer-aided drafting designs to support rural fiber projects. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate and timely completion of project drawings and documentation in accordance with company standards.
Responsibilities
- Use drafting programs to prepare and revise engineering drawings, staking sheets, cable schematics, and detail maps using company standards.
- Interpret and translate field-marked maps into digital CAD drawings.
- Perform minor corrections to existing project files with minimal oversight.
- Clean and prepare land base maps for engineering use.
- Work with engineers on a “one-on-one” basis to revise drawings as needed according to feedback and design updates.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work at a computer station for extended periods with fine hand manipulation.
- Willingness to learn telecommunications system basics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic AutoCAD skills is helpful, but training will be provided.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design or Engineering is a plus.
- Experience with other GIS/CADD products such as ESRI or MicroStation.
